After years of building Photoflare as a free, open source image editor, I’m opening up the Beta for Photoflare Studio – the paid, professional tier of the Photoflare family.
Studio builds on everything Photoflare and Photoflare Lens already do well, and adds the tools that photographers and creative professionals have been asking for: deeper RAW workflow support, advanced layer and export controls, and a perpetual licence model that doesn’t lock you into a subscription.
Why a perpetual licence
At a time when most creative software is moving to subscriptions, Studio has a fixed price for a licence you own outright. No recurring fees, no feature paywalls added later. If you’ve been on the mailing list, you already know about the 50% beta discount this is where that kicks in.
What’s in the Beta
- PhotoFlare Studio brings layers, advanced brushes, and a clean modern interface to Windows, macOS, and Linux. Free to try, a one-time licence to own it outright.
- 3-seat activation, so it covers a desktop, a laptop, and a backup machine.
- Native packages for Ubuntu 24.04 and 26.04, plus an AppImage for broader Linux coverage.
- Priority feedback channel for Beta testers – what you report shapes what ships in September.
Getting the beta
This Beta discount is available for a limited time before the full September launch, when Studio moves to its standard price with a 40% launch-week discount for everyone else.
