Photoflare v1.6.0 has been officially released. This release includes bug fixes and new features. Expect installers to appear on the website within the next few days.
OpenMP
While on my trip to Libre Graphics Meeting. While on a break from attending talks I ended up working together with the author of Filmulator.
He tried Photoflare on his machine and was surprised that our filters are currently single threaded. This has been an issue for a while now but I didn’t know quite how to tackle it. Making use of lib OpenMP we got some great success with certain filters and pushed up a branch for this. I then finished this work when I got back home.
Zoom Preferences
A new option has been added to the preferences dialog. This will allow you to reverse the direction of zoom when you use the scroll wheel of your mouse.

- Default
- Mouse up = Zoom out.
- Mouse down = Zoom in.
- Inverted
- Mouse up = Zoom in.
- Mouse down = Zoom out.
Added new User documentation
As part of this release I spent considerable time working on new documentation for the end user.

Batch filter buttons
The batch dialog now has buttons added to ensure the screen is easier to use. Some users didn’t know that you had to double click to add or remove a filter from the list. (can’t blame them)

User Interface is extra translatable
Certain sections of the User Interface were really not easy to translate. I have rectified this in various sections. In particular the About dialog uses tabs instead of having translatable items inside the actual credits.

Thats all for now folks. Until next time!
